CyberSecurity & Social Engineering

Morpheus offers two pills: blue — stay in the matrix of manipulation, red — see the truth through analysis and critical thinking

Researches the social aspects of security, including methods of countering psychological pressure, social engineering, blackmail and manipulation techniques used by totalitarian or destructive groups. Views cybersecurity as an integral part of personal protection in the modern digital world.

Preface and Terms of Use

All materials published on this website are distributed under the fully free Creative Commons Zero (CC0 1.0 Universal) license.

This means that any texts, materials, and ideas presented here can be freely copied, distributed, modified, and used for any lawful purposes, including commercial purposes, without the need for permission from the author and without attribution.

The author has deliberately chosen this licensing model because they consider it fundamentally important to inform the global community about the threats they have encountered and about the complex, long-term, and difficult struggle they have faced.

For the author, countering hacker attacks, manipulative practices, destructive cults, and totalitarian regimes, as well as their informational and technical tools, is far more important than any personal benefit related to copyright control or monetization of these materials.

If the experience, analysis, or methodology presented here proves useful and helps other people, organizations, or automated systems better recognize and neutralize threats, the author considers their goal achieved.

The site was created by the author based on real-life experience of countering a targeted hacker attack combined with the use of social engineering and psychological attack methods against the author.

The goal of this project is to comprehensively and accurately document all aspects of the targeted attack: the attacker's tactics and strategy, operational capabilities, identified vulnerabilities, and effective countermeasures. Materials are published as data is received and new incidents are analyzed.

🔍 General Characteristics of Targeted Attacks

Go board with a complex configuration of stones — a metaphor for a sophisticated, stealthy targeted attack
A targeted attack is like a game of Go. The opponent doesn't attack head-on but gradually captures space, surrounding you from all sides. To win, you must ruin the opponent's ability to surround your stones — and surround their stones yourself.

This section gathers materials that analyze the structure, methods, and consequences of complex targeted attacks (APTs). You will learn how attackers select victims, what vulnerabilities they exploit, and how a multilayered cybernetic and psychological attack on an individual is built.

👁️‍🗨️ Manipulation by Totalitarian Regimes, Cults, and Individuals

Marionette control tool with strings extending to a schematic head profile — a symbol of mind control
Manipulation is the control of consciousness, not just actions. The strings of totalitarian regimes, cults, and individual manipulators reach directly into the victim's head, hijacking their thinking, values, and perception of reality.

This section is dedicated to the "human factor" in cybersecurity. It analyzes social engineering tactics, psychological vulnerabilities, strategies of trust, and methods of countering manipulation — from individual attackers to destructive cults and totalitarian groups.

📚 Comprehensive Articles and Guides

Technical Atlas of Threats: an open book whose pages transform into network diagrams, terminals, attack flowcharts, and infrastructure graphs, surrounded by digital interfaces

Large-scale, completed works that require systematic presentation. These are practical guides and in-depth analytical essays that combine topics from several sections.

📜 Philosophy and Psychology — Analytical Study and Exposure of Manipulation

Sigmund Freud in a suit with a cigar looks skeptically and with boredom at a shaman who dances furiously with a tambourine
Scientific analysis vs mystical manipulation. Freud (skepticism, logic, cold gaze) versus the shaman (fanaticism, tambourine, irrationality). The "Philosophy and Psychology" section is about this very choice: either the scientific method, or dancing with a tambourine for demagogues and pseudo-healers.

Essays on the nature of deception, intuition, and the dialectic of internal and external. This section will help you understand the philosophical and psychological roots of manipulation and build a resilient framework of personality capable of withstanding it.

🎠 Modern-Day Don Quixotes: A Study of AI Criticism, Progress, and the Scientific Worldview

Gustav Doré illustration 'Don Quixote and the Windmill' — the knight on horseback attacks a windmill, mistaking it for a giant
Don Quixote and the Windmill — illustration by Paul Gustave Doré for Miguel de Cervantes' novel.

A series of articles on the phenomenon of "windmill warriors" in the age of digital progress. Exposing the criticism of science and artificial intelligence, and analyzing why the real threat comes not from scientific and technological progress, but from individuals and groups attempting to discredit it — whether through panic-driven AI criticism or through the manipulative use of romanticized images of history and culture to preserve their power and personal gain.

🛡️ Chronicles of Hardening Against a Targeted Attack

Mechanical chronometer — a symbol of precise, rational measurement of time
Time is not mysticism — it is a resource. The mechanical chronometer is a symbol of rational perception and expenditure of time. Our time is always limited, and it should be spent only on truly useful activities: analysis, protection, development.
